Not much to report on this one. 2 hours into the tournament, I had about 30K in chips. The blinds were 500/1000 and I was on the button. Carl Lewis was sitting to my right and was on a rush (he just took about 50K off Joe Zapps in 3 hands and busted him). I looked down and saw Kh6h, everybody folded to CL and he limped, I decided to steal the blinds and raised to 4K. Small and big blind both folded and it was up to CL, he hesitated for a few seconds and called. I didn't really want a call but the flop was good for me. K K 7 rainbow. He checked and I bet 5K, he called. Ace on the turn and he checked again. I went all in for 19K, he called like a shot and turned over K 9 offsuit. 3 on the river meant his kicker played and I was out. On the turn I had 3 cards to win (6's) and 18 cards to split (3x7's, 4x10's 4xJ's 4xQ's and 3xA's) just my luck I hit a brick!

Alp ended up chopping the tournament with Meat (Claudio) and took home $5,000 minus my 10%.

$25,000 Guaranteed Tournament @ The River Room
Saturday, April 7, 2007, 10:29 AM - Poker

Tournament Date: 06 April 2007
Buy-In: $560 + 1 optional rebuy/add-on $300
# of Players: 52
Prize Pool: $37,000

Got off to a good start in this tournament. In the first level I was in the small blind with Ah 9h. Everybody folded to the button who raised to 200. I called because I wanted to send out the messeage that I protect my blinds. The flop came 9 Q 9. I checked and the button bet 400, I raised to 800 and he re-raised to 2800. I didn't think he would play Q Q that fast so I went all in. He called in a shot. He turned over A A and when I showed the A 9 his face dropped. 2 bricks came on the turn and the river and I doubled up.

40 minutes later I was given a gift. Mid position I was dealt QQ. I raised to 650, (blinds were 100/200) only the big blind called me (he was on tilt because he just lost all his chips and had to take the rebuy). The flop came 4 7 9 rainbow. Mike (the BB) bet out 1000, I raised to 4000 and he called. The turn paired the 4 and he went all in for 5500. I called instantly and he showed me A 7. Send the cookies!

I finished at the break with 32K and my total with the add-on came to 42K. The very first hand after the break I found KK and increased my stack to 55K. The table broke and I was moved.

Got a dead deck for the next 3 hours and my stack dwindled to 17K at one point. I went all in with A 5 offsuit and was called by 99. The flop came J J 10, Q on the turn and K on the river giving me a straight with the Ace. I stole another couple of blinds and made one bluff against Sammie with Q high and made it to the final table with 60K. The average stack at this pont was 90K.

2nd hand on the FT and Carl raised to 12K (blinds were 2000/4000/500) and I go all in with 10 10. Everybody folds and I increase my stack to 83K. 2 hands later I find Ah Kh and I raise to 16K everybody folds to Frank who after 4 seconds decides to go all in. Everybody folds to me and I call, figuring that if I win this pot I would have just under 200K in chips and no one could stop me after that.

Now for some reason Frank has a hard on for me tries to outplay me at every situation. For this reason I did not think that Frank had a very big hand at this point. I was right, he turned over 4 4. It was a race 50/50. As luck would have it I didn't hit and Frank's 4's held up. Lucky prick!

I was severely crippled and was left with only 3500 in chips, I shoved it in on the next hand and missed. I was knocked out 10th. 7 hours of playing poker and no payday. Fuck!!!!

They made a deal 7 handed and split the money according to chip count.

Tilt Thursdays @ The River Room 05/04/07
Friday, April 6, 2007, 10:12 AM - Poker

Played some good poker last night. Had a pretty easy table with a lot of weak players. The average stack at the final table was about 22K and I only had 11K. Made some great laydowns preflop and some great steals myself. I got lucky with 8 players to go when I made a move with Ks 7s, I went all in hoping to steal the blinds and antes but the button had 10 10. Spiked a K on the flop and crippled my opponent. Ended up chopping the tournament with Two and Jesse. Two had more chips so we gave him $2000 and Jesse and myself took $1750 each.

Topflight Monthly Tournament - March 07

Tournament Date: 24 March 2007
Buy-In: $350 + 1 optional rebuy/add-on $150
# of Players: 69
Prize Pool: $30,000

This was my second time playing in this tournament. I was playing well, keeping my head above water, stealing, bluffing at the right time. I wasn't getting any cards so I had to make do with what I had. got my stack up to 40K at one point.

With 2 tables remaining I had about 30K and I made a move with A 10. I raised to 6000 (blinds were 1000/2000/100) and the guy next to me went all in for 10000. I called and he turned over 4 4. I missed and he doubled up. The very next hand I had 5 5 and went all for 20K hoping to steal the blinds. Alp, my horse decides to call with pocket 10's and knocks me out.

Alp ended up chopping the tournament with Mike, Joe Zappia and Manny.

Alternate Tuesdays @ Bennys 13/03/07

Tournament Date: 13 March 2007
Buy-In: $150 + $50 Re-Buys + $50 Add-On
# of Players: 60
Prize Pool: $17,000 APPROX

Had a pretty good start to this tournament, no rebuys so the tournament only cost me $200 including the add-on. Finished the break with 16K incuding the add-on with was just about average chipstack. I played well in this tournament considering I had no cards for the first few hours. I still managed to steal, bluff and outplay my way to being chip leader with 2 tables to go. Got to the final table with about the average chip stack of about 62K. Then it happened, completely card dead, J2, 62, Q4, you get the picture. After 3 rotations I was down to 32K and made a move with Kc8c and ran into QQ. I was out in 7th. Oh well, at least I got $350 giving me a profit of $150. It's better than a kick in the nuts!
